Problems?
- The chat software is a Java applet that ONLY runs on version 4 and above of either Netscape or Internet Explorer. You can still join
though by downloading the mIRC software from www.mirc.com, installing it and joining the chat room. For
detailed instructions on how to do this check out Using mIRC to connect to HDAC Chat.
- If you have version 4 or above of Netscape or IE and it STILL doesn't work then your JVM installation may be corrupted and
you may need to reinstall your browser software to get it to work.
- WebTV users should go to http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/misc/webtv.html for more information about how
to connect to our chat via WebTV. You will need the server, port, and channel information given below.
The first person into any chat room is alone until someone joins them. When you join them but you're not getting any response, it is probably because
they have the chat window minimized while they do other work. If they are logged in using a Jpilot applet (as you are) then you can get their attention by sending an audio announcement letting them know that you have joined the room
and are ready to chat. To get their attention, type in command /s yahoo and if they are in the room they will hear a "yahoooo" and know that you are there.
For those who want to connect using their preferred IRC program the following information will be needed. See you there!
IRC Servers : I'm now using the DALnet IRC network. If you can't connect on the first one, try the second then the third) :
Port : 7000
Channel : #Huntington's_Disease
