HDSA Convention

Good Morning:
I have a general question that I hope some of you can answer. I live in Phx. and the HDSA convention is here this weekend. My husband is in the early stages of HD we are working with our Doc. to get the right anti-anxiety meds right now. Some days are better than others as far as his anxiety and of coarse as with all of us new situations make him more anxious. We were thinking of going to the convention for one day and sitting in on some of the sessions. My husband is not sure if he would feel comfortable - any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Debi

To get a better feel for what you'll be dealing with, do you currently visit an HD support group or have some experience with other HD family members?

You'll both certainly have a good time and it will be educational. I'd encourage everyone to attend the Advocacy session. I'll be there and afterward you can fuss at me for my administration of this site. smiling smiley

Steve

Stevei,
Thanks for your help - yes we have lot's of family experience with
HD but do not belong to any support groups. We are going on Friday
can't afford any more than that. Look forward to meeting you there.
Thanks,
Debi

Deb - I went last year and plan on going this - the most heartwarming part is seeing all the people - especially families with HD and there struggles - however the whole can be very overwhelming and emotional - by Sunday morning I feel very drained - so going one day is a good idea - I think more than one day would be too much - see how he feels and if its too much by mid day than think about leaving early

AR,
Thank you so much for your response, I am sure it is going to emotional. We are kind of nervous and excited and will play it by
ear as you suggested.Maybe we will see you there
Thanks so much,
Debbie
