The Back Alley :  Huntington's Disease Advocacy Center
Imagine yourself in a bar having a pleasant conversation, sharing with others and having a good time. Then the table next to you gets loud - they start calling each other names and ruining the good time atmosphere that you were enjoying. The bouncer comes over and asks them to take it "out back" or "out side". If they don't do it volunarily then he escorts them "out back". Well, this is our equivalent to the back alley where these unpleasant conversations from the other message boards go. Don't come whining to me if you get your feelings hurt.

SCHEDULE:

We are not currently hosting chats at scheduled times. The Chatroom is always available however. If you notice someone's name under the HDAC Chatroom link on the left side of the page and you want to chat, just go join them.

GUIDELINES:

A few guidelines to remember.

1. It's not a dating service.

2. You are not allowed to ask others to leave unless they are violating one or more of these guidelines.

3. Profanity is not acceptable under any conditions.

4. Racist or sexist remarks are not acceptable under any conditions.

5. Gossiping about others is discouraged. Someone might copy and paste the transcript of the chat and share it with those that you are talking about.

6. Maligning others is unacceptable behavior. Again - a copy of the exchange may find its way to those you are bad-mouthing. If you're talking about how someone is handling a situation then make sure what you are saying about it is something that you would say if the person were in the chat.

If you feel these guidelines are not acceptable to you please check out Yahoo Messenger or Microsoft's equivalent.

Thanks,
Steve Ireland
