Huntington's Disease Advocacy Center
Welcome to the Guide for the HDAC Site!

The following are the major links for the HDAC Web site and a description of the service that each one provides. Please stay awhile and explore what our site offers - it's worth the time!

Home Page This will take you back to the home page of HDAC.
Answers to HD Questions This page will display a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the cause, the treatment of and coping with Huntington's Disease. Click on any of the listed questions and we will provide either an answer or a list of links to pages that can provide an answer.
HDAC Message Board Clicking this link takes you to a message board where you can post questions that other visitors can respond to. This is a great way of asking for help. Many people regularly visit the HDAC Message Board and are more than willing to lend a hand and their experiences.
Chat Rooms and Msg Board We've made an attempt to keep track of all of the active HD related chat rooms regardless of whether they are Yahoo Chat, ICQ Chat, eGroups or IRC Chat. This page is a list of all chat rooms and message boards know to us. If you need an interactive chat then this is the place to start your search.
HDAC Calendar This page is a place to post your announcements and scheduled events. We also keep track of scheduled chat sessions on this page. If you have an HD related event that you would like to announce please e-mail us and let us know when and where it will be.
HUNT-DIS ListServ HUNT-DIS is a e-mail list server that is exclusively for people whose lives are affected by Huntington's Disease in one way or another. By registering with HUNT-DIS you can send one e-mail that is automatically redistributed to over 400 other people. If your e-mail is a question or simply a plea for sympathy you will find many of us who will respond with an answer or a {{{{cyber-hug}}}}.
Featured Articles Archive HDAC is a rich source of personal stories from members of HUNT-DIS and other HD communities. We feature a new story every month or so and as stories rotate off of the home page they are archived and are available through this page. No story is ever lost - the love and the memories live on.
Photo Gallery This fun page is where we post some of the more interesting and unique HD related images that we find.
The Political Activist This site is still in it's embryonic stage (and it's having a looonnng gestation period). It contains some useful contact information for government representatives. We will soon be building this section of our Web site as we move into a more aggressive advocacy stage.
HD Identification Card Being one of the first pages on this site, this page is fancy way of printing a personalized and informative identification card for mid and late stage HD patients. You can fill in your name and then print the page, seal it between two sheets of self stick plastic, trim it and voila! your own personalized ID card.
About This Site Oh yes - we had to have at least one page to tell you who the caregivers for this site are. We diligently groom the pages and weed out the dead links and fish for new stories. It's a thankless job but we're having too much fun to give it to anyone else. <g>
Other Organizations This page contains a list of links for professional and commercial Web sites that are useful to caregivers and those diagnosed with HD.
Personal Sites This page contains all of the links that we could find that are published by caregivers and those that have HD. If you have one that we don't have PLEASE let us know.
The Lighter Side of HD <g> This section of our site is intended to show that even though we suffer the tragedy of HD we can still find humor and joy in life. Be sure to check out the link titled "You know you have HD when ..."
